Nanoscale Electronic and Mechanical Devices and Systems Laboratory (NEMS Lab)

Welcome to Rui Yang Research Group

@ University of Michigan – Shanghai Jiao Tong University Joint Institute

Our group focuses on the cutting edge research in Nanoelectronic Devices and Integrated Systems and Circuits, towards sensing and computing with high energy efficiency in the “More than Moore” trend. With the explosion of data, a better way to generate, transfer, store the data, and perform data-intensive computing is necessary yet challenging.

Novel nanoelectronic devices provide the possibility to fundamentally change the current method for sensing and computing. Our group is particularly interested in nanoscale devices and systems in low-power sensing, and in-memory computing. New materials such as 2D materials, new device structures including new memory and transducers, and system integration techniques such as monolithic 3D integration are actively explored.
