Artifact Introduction

The plague of religion is a magazine article published in the Bezbozhnik. It was part of the USSR propaganda program to stamp out religion within the USSR. Religion was supposedly too distracting for the USSR therefore Stalin wanted to erase it. This article was targeted toward middle-class women in the USSR and how religion would contaminate their families if they entertained it.
